Acts Chapter 11 vs. 25-26
Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

The holy season is upon us! During this time of Passover, Easter, and the coming of the Pentecost, it is important to think about what's really happening during this period of rebirth. Passover reflects the end of the Israelites bondage at the hands of the Egyptians, and the beginning of their journey to find their new country. Easter reflects the crucifixion and death of Jesus on the cross, as well as his resurrection and ascension to sit at the right hand of God the father almighty. Pentecost reflects a fledgling church trying to find its way until the coming of the Holy Spirit breathes new life into the disciples and the followers of Christ, who are soon to be called Christians.

Not only is this a time of tremendous rebirth in the church, but also in the world around us. The weather has started changing and becoming more spring-like. Trees and flowers are starting to bloom again, as the grass gets greener and the birds and animals come out of their winter slumber. Everyone is starting to spend more time outdoors.

Now is a good time to start something new! Now is a good time to bring something new! To Church, that is. Help Old Brick find that new thing that will help to sustain us during and beyond this period of great rebirth and renewal. I look forward to seeing you at Church and hearing all about it.
